About me
Hi! I'm Alexandra. Read on to find out who I am and what I do.
I have been working as a private tutor since 2013. After completing my Msci in Biology, I qualified as a science teacher in 2019. When lockdown hit in 2020, I went from teaching in person to teaching 1:1 sessions online. Since then, I have taught over 2,500 hours of online lessons, so I would say it worked quite well.
I have high expectations of my students and match this with a high level of support to help students achieve the best grade they're capable of.

"In 20 years time, I want you to look back at your years in school, and say I did my best."

Outside of teaching, I run a bi-weekly book club, follow developments in tech closely, and to the delight of many of my students, am an avid gamer.

A tutor is a tutor - What makes me unique?
1. Tracked Progress - All of my students monitor the amount of time they spend on each subject daily. This information, with their current grades and target grades are used to set revision targets and monitor them throughout the academic year.
2. Study Plan - Students are assigned a study plan at the start of tuition. The study plan covers every topic including assessments to identify strong and weak topics which can be addressed independently or in sessions.

3. Out of session Support - Students can get in touch to ask for help Monday - Friday at no additional fee (in a Whatsaap group with a guardian present).
